Executive Director Kathy Sayers brings a career of varied experience to hattrick. With her business partner Sheila Jones she founded Wordmiths, a communications firm in Vancouver BC. For her work with Sheila, she won the Women of Distinction Award for Entrepreneurs from the YWCA. Then, for several years, she worked in the public sector -- first as head of communications for a federal AIDs research organization, then as a director of operations for an academic medical research organization and finally as National Coordinator for a controversial clinical trial that drew patients from some of Canada's poorest neighborhoods. She holds a BA in Social Sciences and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Over the years she has received many professional awards and been named a Fellow by the Society for Technical Communication. |
