Marie Burlinson decided to do a hattrick for a charity that was close to her heart.

“When I heard about imagine1day from a friend, I knew it was something I wanted to support,” says Marie Burlinson. “My twin granddaughters take going to school for granted. But girls in Africa can't attend because they have to spend hours a day hauling water for their families. ”

imagine1day not only builds schools near villages - it provides a source of water for the community to use. That means that, for the first time, girls can attend school with their brothers. An avid gardener, Marie decided to start composting and save the $35 a year she spends on enriched soil to do her hattrick.

To spread the word, she sent us her story to let us know what she had done.
